Tigerville – North Greenville Track and Field head coach
Cameron Stober has tabbed Jarvis Robinson as the newest assistant for NGU Track and Field.
Jarvis Robinson is a coaching veteran, working with athletes across several sports and ability levels, earning numerous Outstanding Coach awards along the way. Robinson played an integral role in a pair of South Carolina State Championships for the high school boys in 2021 and 2023 at Greenville High School as an assistant coach for sprints and relays. He also helped the girls track and field team to a state runner up title in 2021 as well as a State Championship the following season.
Robinson also helped mentor several event state champions including the girls three-time 4x100 meter relay team and the 4x400 meter relay state runners up. During his time with Greenville High School Jarvis Robinson also coached several individual state champions in the 100 and 400 meter as well as three runners up in the 100 and 200 meter runs.
From Coach Stober
"We are excited to have Coach Robinson join our staff. It's been neat to see how God orchestrated him coming to NGU. We recruited his oldest daughter, Bre'Asia, in high school. When she visited NGU I remember being extremely impressed with her and her family. The way they conducted themselves, how easy they were to talk to...it was just comfortable. Bre'Asia ultimately chose to attend Georgia Southern, but Coach Robinson and myself stayed in touch over the years when it came to some of his student-athletes that we were recruiting at Greenville High School.
When the assistant track and field coach position became available this summer Coach Robinson applied for the job. Based on my previous experience with him and the conversations that we had over the summer, I knew that he would be an excellent fit for us. He is someone that values his relationship with Christ and it shows in how he lives his life. He is a family man that loves his wife and daughters. And he values the importance of what it means to be a STUDENT-athlete. Those things align perfectly with our program priorities.
Coach Robinson is a Greenville native and has ties with our University. His wife (Brittany) and brother-in-law (MJ) both graduated from NGU. In addition to him now being a full-time staff member at NGU, his oldest daughter Bre'Asia is now enrolled at NGU and is a member of our women's track and field team.
I'm excited to have Coach Robinson on staff. He knows the Greenville area well and has lots of connections with high school coaches from around the state. I think that will be really helpful from a recruiting standpoint. We've definitely got some rebuilding to do with our sprints, jumps, and hurdles group. But I believe he's up to the task. I know that the student-athletes that will be under his guidance will have someone that they can look to as a positive Christian example. I look forward to seeing the impact that he has on their lives and the impact that he has on our program."
Jarvis Robinson is USA Track and Field Level 1 certified. He is a native of Greenville and a graduate of Southside HS. He was the former sprints and relays coach at Greenville HS for 10 years.
