North Greenville Falls to Nationally Ranked Queens

The North Greenville Crusaders suffered a 24-5 loss to the 4th ranked Royals of Queens University of Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. Queens moved to 4-0 for the season while the Crusaders fell to 1-4 for the year. Rachel Kellogg recorded 3 goals for the game while Ashley Thatcher scored 2 of her own.

Queens would be the first to strike with a goal just over twenty seconds into the game. The Crusaders would respond with a goal by Rachel Kellogg, but from there the Royals would pull away by scoring the next nine goals to lead 10-1 less than fifteen minutes into the half. After Rachel Kellogg scored her second goal of the game to put the Crusaers within eight, two more goals by Queens resulted in a running clock. North Greenville was able to stop the clock for a short time with a goal by Ashley Thatcher, but the Royals would go on to score the final two goals of the half to take a 14-3 lead into halftime.

Queens would continue to pull away in the second half, scoring the first eight goals to lead 20-3. Thatcher gave the Crusaders a 4th goal with her second of the game. After two additional goals by the Royals, Kellogg went on to score NGU's final goal of the game. Queens ended things with the final two goals within the final two minutes to ultimately take a 24-5 victory. Dani O'Meara, who started the game at goalkeeper for the Crusaders, recorded the loss.

North Greenville will head to Tampa, Florida on Wednesday, March 4th to face the Spartans of Tampa University.
