Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders were able to get on the board early this evening at Pepsi Stadium but ultimately drew with the Lees-McRae Bobcats with a final score of 1-1. NGU scored in the 11th minute of the match when
Jacob Marino scored a goal off an assist by
Vinicius Silva. The two teams would post nearly identical shots throughout the first half as North Greenville slightly led 9-8 in shots and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. LMC continued to be aggressive in the second half while the Trailblazers turned to defense. Lees-McRae was able to respond in the 59th minute with a goal to tie the score at 1-1. The Bobcats led the half in shots 10-4 as the two teams ultimately finished the match in a draw.
Ricardo Marques impressed at goalkeeper with nine saves.
Renan Macuglia posted a team-leading five shots.
Jacob Marino recorded two shots with both on goal.
NGU will return to action on Tuesday, September 24th against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in Belmont, North Carolina.
