Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders dropped a non-conference contest to the Wolves of Newberry College this evening at Pepsi Stadium with a final score of 14-10. Newberry began things with the momentum, scoring four of the first five goals. The Crusaders responded with a 4-1 run of their own to tie things back up at 5-5 early on in the second quarter. However, Newberry was able to reclaim the momentum from there, scoring six of the next seven. Although the Crusaders would score the final goal of the half, the Wolves would go into halftime with an 11-7 lead. The Crusaders were able to close the deficit down to two with four of the next five goals, but Newberry would open it back up with two straight goals to end the third quarter. The fourth would go scoreless as cards dominated the quarter. NBY would leave Tigerville with a win by four goals. North Greenville led the night in draw controls 14-12 but trailed in shots 30-21. Clears proved to be an issue for NGU as the Crusaders were successful in 11-20 while the Wolves were a perfect 15-15 in clears.

Emma Mayew put together a 5 goal performance along with 2 draw controls. Kylie Keen posted 3 goals, an assist, 7 draw controls, and a ground ball. Emily Zambrano finished with 2 goals.

NGU returns to action on Saturday, February 24th against the Spartans of the University of Tampa at Pepsi Stadium.
